This is Matt Rice with the Market Line Report for May 23rd. Cattle slipping further into the hole over the week, but prices holding steady overall. Let's go to Greg Sanders to hear more on the weekly cattle summary with the USDA.

Sanders "Thank you and good morning everyone, here's the northwest feeder summary for Washington, Oregon, and Idaho for Friday May 20th 2016. This week we had 5,200 head of feeder cattle trade, compared to last Friday, feeder cattle were firm to $9 higher. Trade moderate and demand was moderate to good. Feeder steers, large frame # 1's current delivered price, 850- 900 lbs. $1.44- $1.45 delivered into Idaho. Future FOB price medium price medium, large frame 1 and 2 steers 600-700 lbs $1.42 to $1.56 ½ for WA, OR, and ID."

Chicago July Wheat prices were unch at 468 ¾. July corn ended the week up 3, at 393. Portland prices for soft white wheat of 10 ½ % protein for May were steady, ranging from 5-29 ¼ to 5-36. Hard Red Winter wheat with 11 ½ % protein, prices for May were unch, ranging from 5-26 to 5-28. DNS wheat with 14 % protein, prices for May were dn 9 ¼, ranging from 6-16 to 6-31. June Live Cattle closed last week dn 57 ½ cents, at 120.97 ½. May Feeder cattle were up 45 cents, at 148.72 ½. May class III milk was up 2 cents at, 12-82.
