In the grain market wheat futures trend sharply higher amid concerns of a US drought.

From the floor of the CME Here's Joe Vaclavik:

(( We have a developing drought in the US along the southern plains and also into the northern plains . USDA had some crop progress reports out yesterday for some of the major wheat growing states and they were down substantially since they were last reported at the end of the December. So we've got a little bit of a weather scare on our hands here certainly and it has helped to prop up prices during the last couple of sessions. The Kansas City Wheat Market has really led the way here amid uncertainty in regard to US production. ))
