The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment and Colorado Department of Agriculture are reaching out to farmers and producers with a project called "Colorado Ag Water Quality."

The effort stems from Colorado Regulation 85 which currently addresses nutrient runoff of phosphorous and nitrogen in surface water by encouraging voluntary best management practices. The regulation sets a timeline of 2022 for evaluation and possible mandatory regulations if the current approach fails.

The project includes this video of farmers and ranchers talking about the importance of best management practices

It's developed by Colorado State University Extension and also includes a factsheet and publications and other sources on nutrient and water quality mana"All of us whether we're in agriculture or not depend on clean safe water."
