"Beef"ing Up

Thanks KayDee. Ingri DeGRoote is a 40-year old mom of 4 who has transformed her 5’3” frame losing 45 pounds, dropping her bmi over 12% and increased muscle mass more than 5% and she fuels her workouts with beef.
DEGROOTE: With my training this season I got to up my beef intake. I love beef. I love the smell of it. I love the taste of it. I choose a lean beef of course after my long tempo runs and then my faster paced runs. I love the 95% lean ground beef. It refuels the body. Beef builds muscle and it repairs all that body tissue.
DeGroote has become an inspiration for women and men alike who want to take their lives back.
DEGROOTE: I just kind of threw my hand up. What do I do? What am I doing to myself? And I just actually said; Ok, done. I don’t know how to fix this? I need help. I just went down to the local gym signed up.
She got a trainer and began learning about nutrition and the right and wrong things to be putting in her body.
DEGROOTE: She taught me what I needed for protein. I needed a large protein based diet that was also 80% vegetables. What protein does - it’s like adding kindling to a fire and it keeps it burring and keeps it going. It builds muscle and puts the nutrients back in after a big endurance run like I’m doing now. I look forward to eating my meals on big endurance days because I actually eat beef that day
