Cattle Industry Convention Happens Next Week

Each year cattle producers and other representatives of the beef industry gather for the annual Cattle Industry Convention which begins next week in San Antonio.
Idaho Cattle Association Communication Director Britany Hurst shares why producers should be attending this event.
Hurst: “It’s a great opportunity to meet with other producers from around the country. NCBA - like ICA — is a member driven organization so that means that it is the members that set the policy and the focus that NCBA works off. Those decisions are made at convention.”
In addition to the convention, there is also the largest trade show for the cattle industry as well.Hurst adds.
Hurst: “The networking is also a great opportunity and also a lot of times you focus on jus the issues in your own states and you don’t realize the issues other states have within the industry. It is so varied across the country so it is a great opportunity for cattle producers from all states to get together and discuss the issues that they are dealing with and how they can use experiences from other states.”
