A Beef With Meat-Free Week

A Beef With Meat-Free Week

Tomorrow I’m going to the Washington Cattlemen’s Association Bull Test and Sale at Bonina Ranch in Eltopia. I don’t know about you — but I really enjoy attending cattle sales. I like seeing and visiting with fellow ranchers and cattle enthusiasts that I don’t get to see nearly often enough.
With cattle prices as high as they have been, there is an extra spring in cattlemen’s step. Of course I guess tomorrow it will depend on your prospective: whether you are selling a bull and enjoying the strong prices … or bemoaning the higher prices as a buyer.
I can think of no better way of un-celebrating the silly vegan-centric Meat Free Week — than attending a bull sale and having an exceptionally fine Tri-tip lunch surrounded by other beef industry supporters.
What are some other ways to promote the beef industry this week? Perhaps engage a consumer in conversation about the many lean and healthy cuts of beef? Share your personal story about your ranch and your family’s stewardship of your land with someone? Post a beef positive story via Facebook, Instagram or Twitter? You decide.
