Disappointing Results from Oregon Wildlife Commission

Oregon Rancher and one of the founders of the Oregon Wolf Education Kerry Tienhaara shares
Tienhaara: “The ODFW released their Oregon Wolf Conservation and Management 2014 Annual Report. It is 11 pages long. And in this report, they tell us for the year 2014 they have a verified minimum wolf population — I say minimum because even the ODFW admits there are more wolves; they only count verified. That’s through DNA, scat - they need to see or hear wolves howling or evidence of. You can report it — but that doesn’t mean that it is verified. They have to come out and verify. So the population stands at 77 wolves in Oregon. Of those 77 — 72 or 93.5 percent are in Eastern Oregon and the other five members are in Southern Oregon — the Rogue pack.
The most recent Oregon Wildlife Commission meeting which was held on April 24th in Bend. Tienhaara reported last week that that, QUOTE: “The Wildlife Commission did what we have come to expect from those who have the obligation to manage Canadian Grey wolves in Oregon; they did nothing. UNQUOTE
The Commission claimed they needed more information — despite a 64 page biological status reviewed by ODFW biologists that was presented to the Commission.
