Newly Launched Ranch To Table Culinary Education Program

Chefs are often a trusted source of food information for consumers interested in where their food comes form and how it's raised. Agri Beef is involved in all aspects of the beef lifecycle — including ranching, cattle feeding and beef processing — has recently launched a new online education course.

AgriBeef Corporate Marketing Specialist Alethea Prewett says by creating this program, Agri Beef has helped increase the reach of beef industry education.

Prewett: "As much as we'd like to — we can't take 1,000s of culinary students to our ranch every single year. So how can we bring our ranch and bring the feed yard to them? Because we can go to our ranch, we can go to our feed yards and talk to our employees and get their expertise — it puts us in a unique position to be educators as well."

Prewett continues with more details about this exciting new endeavor which will educate college level culinary instructors about the beef industry from Ranch to Table.

Prewett: "So we figured that if we created a program that gave benefit to the instructors which was the continuing education hour credits that they would take the course. So not only are we training and educating the educator but then we have given them the materials once they have complete and pass the course to teach it to their students. So we hoping when they go through the Meat and Beef Cutting Fabrication that they will include Ranch to Table elements of how beef is raised into their classroom."
