Hi everybody it's time for your Wednesday Agri Beef Minute here on the Ag Information Network of the West-I'm Russell Nemetz.

In today's beef cattle industry its all about delivering the consumer a consistent and high-quality product. At Agri Beef's Double R Ranch, they utilize embryo transfers as a progress tool to help incorporate higher quality genetics into their cowherd. Here's their Livestock Program Assistant Garrett Tschida.

"By doing this we're able to increase some genetic potential gains by propagating the higher quality better cattle to allow us to make a more uniform product on the backside. If we can produce lots of siblings, half siblings or full siblings into our bull battery to breed commercial cattle it's going to return a product that's more uniform as a whole and be more consistent in our marketing of boxed beef."

Be sure to tune into next week's Agri-Beef Minute as we'll check back in with Garrett and have him explain the challenging process of embryo transfer.
