In today’s adventure we are with hunting and fishing expert Gabe Rostberg and we are going to learn about hunting bears in Idaho where you are allowed to use bait. Gabe says to use bait which is cheap and plentiful. “In Idaho it is legal to bait bears and it is one of the most effective ways to harvest the bear. You get different types of bait that the bears would like bread, a lot of people use oats,  once you set up your bait  you are also going to want to set up an area that you can sit in in order to watch your bait. Tree stands are very effective, also you can find a nice area against a tree where you can see you are bait clearly and not have to move a lot if you are going to make a shot. Once the bears start hitting your bait and eating the food that you have put out, you want to form a habit. You want the bears to come back to the food day after day. Normally I find that within 3 to 7 days after you send out your bait the bear will find it. Baiting allows you to view the bears and then select which one you want to harvest responsibly. You can pick an ethical shot on that bear.
