4-21 SS KJ Guides

Karl Johansson runs a  guiding service not surprisingly called KJ Guides and Outfitters which is located way up in the middle of nowhere. That middle of nowhere happens to be called Ft. McMurray  which is in far Northern Alberta. Of course the benefit of being in such a remote location is the fact that there is very little hunting pressure. You know what that means? It means that there are huge moose and bear populations where the moose and the bears are huge. In fact, on his brochure Carl has a headline that says unparalleled moose and bear hunting in the wilderness of Northern Alberta. Here’s our Swedish born owner, Carl.  This is strictly for moose hunting for bull moose in the rut.” One of Carl’s clients  wrote this about his hunting experience: “The willow trees were swaying back and forth, yet there was no wind. I heard a loud grunt from a Bull moose. Out of the brush a black nose appeared, and ply-wood sized antlers followed and they were attached to a mammoth body. I put the crosshairs behind his shoulders and hoped I wouldn’t miss at 30 yards. I squeezed the trigger and down he went. He collapsed in front of me without so much as a twitch. Go by float plane to camp. Hunt from Sept 16- Oct 5th Upper limit for moose 60-65 inch. Average 45-55. You get 600 pounds of meat.
