5-25 SS Classic Hunter

5-25 SS Classic Hunter

In the process of life we as humans like to evolve. That means growth, financially, intellectually, spiritually. Well it turns out that these days, no disrespect intended, a lot of sportsmen are trying to devolve.

Picked up an article in the Wall Street Journal and let me read you a little snippet:   there is a backward movement in the U.S.: Hunters are increasingly devolving, favoring crude hand-wrought weapons made with ancient methods. Well I had to get in on the action so I called up Ted Fry who owns Raptor Archery in Hood River, OR.  Ted’s an avid and pure hunter who has devolved. I opened the conversation by referring to a caveman familiar to many of us: “Fred Flintstone, yeah tell me about him and what the attraction is. Some people call it primitive archery and I call it classical archery. Before mass production people handcrafted bows and arrows. Primitive archery makes it sound like cavemen. I have short hair, shave and all that kind of stuff. I just prefer hunting with what I call classic archery equipment, I do hunt with stone points some of the time in fact I took a real nice mountain lion with a wooden bow and a stone tipped arrow made from a wild rose branch. To me you get more out of hunting when you put more into your hunting. When you and craft your own stuff and then you're successful, you get more of a reward with the more you put into it.
