Sekiu is a waterfront community located on a quiet bay at the Northwest tip of the Olympic Peninsula on the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Our rural area beckons you with a unique coastline and an abundance of natural beauty and wildlife viewing. Something else you will find there is Van Riper’s resort. Here is owner Chris Mohr to fill us in: “We are pretty much a full service fishing resort, we have motel, campground, marina, moorage, launching and a small tackle convenience store. We are located approximately 50 miles west of Port Angeles, Washington on the Olympic Peninsula and about 20 miles from Neah Bay. Primarily the fishing we do here is in the streets of Juan de Fuca, some of the folks do run out into the ocean but primarily the fishing that occurs out of Sekiu is here in the front in the Straits of Juan de Fuca. Do you outfit people? Well you have a couple of choices. We have a charter boat that can take people that are not wanting to do their own thing, the majority of the people bring their own boats that are set up to do whatever then we have a small fleet of rental boats, they call them kicker boats, they are 16 foot  open fiberglass boat with a 15 hp motor that people do their fishing within six or 8 miles of the resort.” You want Kings, Coho, pinks, known as humpy’s?
