8-31 SS Hexxy Hippo 2

How do you hit a hippo where it counts? Hexxy knows and we will hear about it next. Yesterday we left former Minnesota North Star and Detroit Red Wing star player Dennis Hextall up to his backside in crocodiles and hippos in the Zambezi River of Mozambique. Rifle in hand, barefoot in the river, Dennis was looking to harvest a giant hippopotamus. Let’s pick up the story with him: “It was coming up sort of cockeyed and the guide told me just take the bottom level of the ear and let it rip. We did and you could hear the bullet and those things just sink. So we went over there and they carry a big long bamboo pole and they feel down and yeah, it’s there, come back in an hour and the backend will come up from all the gassing it does because they eat all that vegetation, so the back and comes up and you throw a rope around one of the back legs and you haul it in. How do you get that back to the U.S.? Everything I shot over there is trophy quality. Over there they skin them out and salt them down, they take them to a place where they get all the paperwork done, I used a broker that’s in New York so they are shipped to New York, once they get to New York that broker notifies me then I notified him of the taxidermist that I am using and everything is shipped to the taxidermist and then I work with the taxidermist to get him mounted and into my basement. I’ve got about 45 animals in my basement.”
