10-20 SS Bear Attack

10-20 SS Bear Attack

Something hunters have to be very aware of when they are out in the wilderness hunting.

So you’re out looking for that trophy elk, bear, Whitetail and because you are armed with either a bow or a rifle, you have absolutely nothing to worry about, correct? Not according to  Fish and Game spokesperson, Greg Losinski.  “We did have an incident up in Montana where a bow hunter ran into a grizzly, was bitten on the head, walked out, got stitches and went home. The incident on Saturday involved a bear whose species we are not sure of yet, we know it was a large bear but until we get back DNA we cannot confirm what type of bear but in that case the bow hunter again did receive bytes to his right arm and hand and lost a ring finger. Nothing life-threatening in either of those cases. Help me out Greg. When a hunter is out in the wilderness and is armed does he have a false sense of security? When we hunt we do everything that is going to get us in trouble with large animals that are also out there in the woods. We are quiet, we sneak around, we try and make sure that our scent is covered up by using urine from deer and elk so if we are winded they think they have a meal out there  so again we do everything that could get us into trouble and sometimes things like this do happen.
