Ultimate Upland founder Brian Koch who, with author and outdoor columnist Christine Cunningham, partnered to introduce a petition for the first federal stamp for upland habitat. The intention behind the stamp is to preserve habitat. Over my experience I think we have seen the CRP program which is considered by most to be the biggest habitat program for upland game in the country and the program is crumbling under the weight of commodities. So talking with others about that and the need for upland habitat improvement because there are a number of birds that are experiencing historical declines including the sage grouse and many of the prairie birds. If you look at the duck stamp program, it has funded 800 and some million dollars towards conservation by duck hunters and birdwatchers. It has added 6,000,000 acres to the national wildlife refuge.
