Four for four

Four for four

Lance Sellars is an accomplished sportsman who really enjoys what the outdoors is all about. When it comes to elk hunting he does all the things you should do to a meticulous degree. His reward? A super trophy bull. Three years ago I and three other fellow hunters drew a limited entry tag down by my hometown which when I drove out they only had one or two elk. There were only 15 tags in about 2000 people put in for the tags. We drew four and spent the whole month down there chasing. We do our homework. We look at maps. We talk to fish and game officers. I have a friend who is up there all the time and he said concentrate in this area. We found out in July we were down every weekend in South Hills scouting following the elk and the bulls. We scoped it down to a limited area. When the season hit we were calling in anywhere from 15 to 20 bulls a day. Finally we picked out and I said I want to concentrate on this one and the other three guys concentrated on their own. I ended up shooting the biggest bull they have on record. We all for limited out with 300+ bulls which is unheard of. It was one of those picture-perfect times with good friends and great memories.” And that is the sportsman’s spirit. The camaraderie and friendships that result from the bonding experience created by being a true outdoorsman.
