I got a press release from Mike Demick, Idaho Fish & Game Information Supervisor, saying that two big horns had to be euthanized after contacting domestic sheep in Challis, Idaho.

"When we get reports of Big Horn sheep that are co-mingling with domestic sheep, in our bighorn sheep management plan, it has been set up that we will have to collect those sheep and try to determine if they are transmitting the disease back and forth. So that’s been set up for seven or eight years. Anytime those cheap co-mingle, we have to investigate in a timely manner. We tried to actually collect those sheep by darting them and put transmitters on them and collect a bunch of biological data. That didn't work even though we tried several times to dart them so the decision was made to take out those sheep.
