I met Tim Elam at a sportsmen's show in Boise and he was featuring a rifle sling. It's a nifty little device and he developed it because he is, in his own words, an avid hunter. So we started talking about his hunting preferences. "I have been hunting for years. Shot my first elk when I was 14 and have been hunting ever since. It is one of my passions. I am still in pursuit of the monster buck or massive bull. I am a meat hunter when it comes to elk. Meaning that eating elk meat is the most delicious protein source you can get, right? I agree with that, yes sir. Elk meat is something I have raised my family with. I hunt muleys but I shoot more white tail than I do muleys. I shot a deer one time that charged me and that one I will never forget. Slow down for just a second and let me ask you a couple of questions. Okay. Do you prefer quite tail over muleys because of the hunting experience or the eating experience? The hunting experience. In my mind there is more action with Whitetail. If you miss an opportunity you know that you will have another one nearby. It's almost like bird hunting. You get into a flock of them and then you go over the hill and there is another flock.
