Good friend Scotty Cyr goes elk hunting in the Idaho mountain wilderness with wife Nancy and his kids. But he ran into a few elements that he wasn't quite expecting. "It was September 4 and it was a weekend that Dave couldn't make it for elk camp so I decided to go up by Grandjean to do a little elk hunting up there in one of the canyons. In the morning I went out and chased elk all the way up to the top of the mountain. Came back off, obviously, not successful. Drove down to Sacajawea, met up with Nancy and the kids, had barbecue down there, set in the hot springs for about four hours and she had to drive back to Boise. I said I'm going back over to the hunting camp and hunt one more evening and Sunday morning. Went back up to the camp, started walking into the Canyon, probably got one half mile in and the sun was beating down and I am like, I'm too tired to do anything so I laid down in the sun, got a little suntan and I was just looking across the canyon at the top of the peak and I saw a little black speck move all the way at the top of the mountain. So I'm in the sun, I'm too tired from sitting in the hot tub for four hours so I just proceeded to sit there and watch this bear for one half hour. Came to realize that I am watching him come down the side of the mountain." Will pick it up tomorrow.
