Spring Turkey Hunt 2

Continuing our story with Josh Mills who was turkey hunting near Spokane, patiently calling in some Tom's. Josh was using a mouth call and did not want to seem overly anxious so he called slowly but surely. And then... "At that point, I stood up and looked out of my gun and my pump did not eject the 3 1/2 inch shell properly, it was messing with me, and I look up at the turkey got up and started to fly. I threw another round in because there is nothing worse than wounding game and not be able to claim it. I put a shot into the bird again, it broke its back legs but then glided off into another piece of property. I was fit to be tied because I was saying to myself, chalk it up to another story, another almost, like I can't believe that this happened. So I dejectedly started looking for the turkey and crisscrossed this little piece of land that I did not have permission to be on. I unloaded my gun because I did not want to have a loaded gun on property I did not have permission for. Well, I give up, think about leaving, turn around and literally almost stepped on the turkey. It just goes to show that for every time you have a bad outcome, just keep going because eventually good stuff does happen."
