Every year, Lincoln County farmer Darren Tabor battles the rock chuck population that decimates his alfalfa fields. Ken Mills, is a sharpshooter from California who plies his skills taking out these varmints. He has befriended many Magic Valley farmers who allow him to hunt the rock chucks on their private property because he makes a difference. "This has been an exceptional year. We have had two days where we have killed over 100 chucks a day. Saturday we took 112 and that hundred and 12 chucks were killed on one guys place and we didn't even finish them all off. I started shooting here in 1997 and last year we killed 1120 chucks. That put us almost 11,000 chucks that we have killed in that amount of time. I started this chuck hunting, when I was reading an article and it said five average size chucks in a given amount of time will eat the same amount of food as a cow will." Darren loves Ken's services. "He's a very efficient hunter, he likes what he does, he does us a heck of a nice service at no charge to us. It's just the thrill of the hunt for him." "The farthest I have ever killed a Chuck was 566 yards." "I get a kick out of watching him hunt.
