You want to talk about commitment to conservation, there is no greater group then Ducks Unlimited. DU had a huge conservation effort in Louisiana some time ago and I called to talk with spokesperson Andi Cooper. Listen to the dialogue they espouse while a caller is on hold. "Healthy wetlands preserve the quality of our drinking water. They filter pollutants from our lakes and streams and they reduce flood damage by acting like a sponge. Wetlands also provide extraordinary places to enjoy the great outdoors.”

Andi wanted to point out that waterfowl are primary recipients of DU’s national efforts but there are lots of other beneficiaries as well. “In addition to waterfowl, everything that uses wetlands including all of us who depend on wetlands for clean water, flood water absorption, for storm protection along the coast, all depend on the same habitat.”
