KVH Industries, Inc. has a satellite communications antenna system, which offers satellite phone service everywhere except the polar regions. Mike Mitsock, vice president of marketing for KVH. “There’s lots of opportunity for all kinds of access and it really depends on whether you are doing a day charter where you might need phone service and a little bit of Internet access just to check in with the folks back home or whether you're chartering a boat for a week to go up to Alaska or you’re in the woods for a hunting expedition. There is everything from Internet access and voice service to television reception in remote areas where you can't get cable or fiber optics service so it really is a world where we have all come to expect that when we are near a city or we are at home, the Internet is sort of like the air we breathe. It’s just sort of everywhere and increasingly, people are becoming addicted to staying in touch and staying connected whether they are at home, on the road and even if they are chartering a fishing boat whether in the wild going for a hunting expedition. The great news is that with satellite communication, it's becoming more affordable and accessible to be able to do that just about anywhere on the earth. 95% of the Earth is accessible these days for Internet access or TV.
