Josh Mills was steelhead fishing, playing the name game and came across a Bill Buckner baseball card which gave him bad luck. But not to worry. "The only people who are more superstitious than baseball players are steelhead fisherman. At that point I went into this three month long fishless streak where I couldn't get a grab. I did everything I normally do and I said to myself how bad this is getting. One day I am sitting on the banks of one of our local rivers, I reached into my wader pocket for some gum and there is the Bill Buckner card. I asked myself again, is this a bad luck curse? I forgot about it and called my buddy and we laughed about it. Fast forward to my last trip, middle of January, I'm on the Clearwater River, and five minutes into the first run, I hook into and land the biggest steelhead of my life. 41 inches and 22 to 24 pounds. It erased all the bad luck and now my Bill Buckner card is a laminated and is in the front pocket of my waders for good luck.
