Outdoor Scam

Often times on Sportsman's Spotlight, I recommend gear or at least places where you can find the kind of outdoor equipment that might be of great use to you. It doesn't matter whether it's shotgun, a fishing reel, a guided hunt, camping equipment or communications technology that is useful and serviceable in remote locations. But I found a doozy of a scam in the Idaho Statesman that I feel compelled to warn you about. According to the statesman, the Better Business Bureau is warning Pacific northwest fishermen about a company that is pulling a fast one by taking customers' money and then not delivering the goods. Reel Hook Fishing is an online business out of Auburn, Washington that reaches out to anglers asking for support in exchange for products. The Better Business Bureau says some people were generally contacted via social media and asked to help a local company by purchasing a T-shirt. The customer was often promised free merchandise in return. The Better Business Bureau has received 14 complaints and more than 700 inquiries from customers who claim their merchandise never arrived. The Statesman said that the company also does online business under the names Angler's Cast, Target Hunt company and LOA outdoors. As the old cliché goes, forewarned is forearmed so be on the lookout against companies doing virtual pandering under the names I just mentioned
