Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack has announced funding for rural electric projects in 16 states to provide reliable, affordable electricity for rural residents. Three representatives from three of South Korea’s largest flour mills will meet with wheat researchers in the Pacific Northwest for a firsthand look at the new wheat harvest. The visit was planned months before the May 29th announcement that a small amount of genetically modified wheat had been found in an Oregon field. Officials hope the visit provides a great opportunity to reinforce the safety, quality and reliability of U.S. wheat.
