This is the Agribusiness Update...I’m Greg Martin...

Tyson Foods recently told its cattle suppliers it will stop accepting cattle fed with Zilmax - but National Beef Packing and JBS SA said this week they will not change their cattle-buying practices. Kansas City-based National Beef says they place a high priority on animal welfare with cattle in its facilities and does not plan to change its cattle-procurement practices.

More growers are relying on mobile technology for their daily farming operations. To reflect the seller’s changing needs for updated grain-market information - Farms Technology - a subsidiary of DuPont Pioneer - has updated its Dynamic Pricing Platform Graindesk mobile app. This free app allows growers to make, monitor and manage offers to sell corn, soybeans and wheat 24 hours a day.

A new GMO labeling campaign is underway - this time led by MoveOn - a liberal policy advocacy group. According to the group - more than 130-thousand people in 35 cities participated in a National Day of Action Friday. MoveOn’s website says action members participated in petition deliveries, speak outs, rallies and Monsanto Challenge taste tests.

That’s today’s Agribusiness Update from the Ag Information Network.
