Beginning February 1, 2014, a Winter Market will be held each Saturday at the new building constructed at Blue Mountain Station in Dayton, Washington. The Winter Market will be held from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM each Saturday in the retail area of this new 6,912 square foot building dedicated to artisan food production.

The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday upheld Monsanto Co's biotech seed patents, dealing a blow to a group attempting to ward off lawsuits by the company against farmers. The group sued Monsanto in March 2011 seeking to prohibit the company from suing them if their fields became inadvertently contaminated with its patented genetic traits for corn, soybeans, cotton, canola and other crops.

Green America's GMO Inside campaign today launched  a major push to get General Mills to drop genetically modified organisms from Honey Nut Cheerios--the company's and the nation's'  #1  breakfast cereal.  The campaign's website and Facebook page call on General Mills to remove GMOs from Honey Nut Cheerios and to use a third-party verifier to ensure that the cereal is, in fact, non-GMO.

That's today's Agribusiness Update from the Ag Information Network.
