This is the Agribusiness Update...I'm Greg Martin...

An Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change released its report for policymakers titled Climate Change 2014 - Mitigation of Climate Change. 25x'25 reports the summary says global emissions of greenhouse gases have risen to unprecedented levels - despite a growing number of policies to reduce climate change. In fact - between 2000 and 2010 - those emissions grew more quickly than in each of the three previous decades. The study also shows carbon dioxide emissions from fossil fuel combustion and industrial processes contributed nearly 78-percent of the total GHG emission increase from 1970 to 2010.

The U.S. Departments of Treasury and State sent a letter to international partner countries last weekend urging them to expand their support for the Global Agriculture and Food Security Program. The GAFSP was started in 2007 and promotes food security by providing merit-based financing for the ag sector in low-income countries. Since it was established - there have been sustainable reductions in hunger and malnutrition.

That's today's Agribusiness Update from the Ag Information Network.
