Hosted by the U.S. Grains Council, the delegation was brought to the U.S. to learn about U.S. grain production and exporting systems and see the advantages of purchasing U.S. products. The Grains Council says the delegation's meetings were intended to help address the challenges with exporting to Cuba. Cuba's proximity makes it a logical buyer of U.S. agriculture products but the longtime embargo has meant lost sales.
