With the Agribusiness Update, I'm Susan Allen at the Global Food Forum recently in New York City Anthony Pratt, executive Chairman of Pratt Industries called food production the largest industry in America, and our country a food superpower. US food sales are greater than the auto, movie, technology and oil and gas industries employing more than 4 million people and should get the attention it deserves. Also that we can double the food production industry to 1.8 trillion by selling into the Asian middle –class boom as 12.5 more people now have access to greater disposable income. Finally, It is getting tougher to be a dairy farmer in California especially after a new state law signed by Governor Brown to reduce "short-lived" climate pollutants mandates cutting methane from livestock 40% by 2030. CNBC reports that California Dairy Farmers think the anti-flatulence law stinks.
