I don't care how exciting your hunting or fishing venture happens to be, if you are cold and wet, it will turn to a miserable experience. I have a solution for you.

There is a store up in Seattle called Filson's and if you go to filson.com you can go through their catalog and find some pretty nice outdoor wear that is high quality and, not surprisingly, fairly high-end. Here's Amy Terai, with a little background on the company: "The company was founded by Clinton C. Filson who came out to Seattle from Nebraska and he started Filson Blanket and Manufacturing Company and it was basically to outfit miners going up to the Klondike gold rush. He specialized in heavyweight Mackinaw wools as issued gear for miners so the miners could get past the border. They needed a certain amount of goods and our jackets were part of that package area. How did you make the transition from miners to hunting where? His idea, he was a great and smart businessman, and he wanted to outfit anywhere he felt there was need to protect them from the harsh climate and damp weather here. He outfitted the upland hunter, waterfowl hunter, as well as the fly fisherman." This outdoor wear isn't cheap but Amy says it is made in the good old US of A out of very high quality material.
