From the Ag Information Network, I’m Bob Larson with your Agribusiness Update.

**While the 2018 farm bill hasn't been released yet, U.S. Representative Collin Peterson, of Minnesota, says the new bill will look a lot like the one that expired in September. But, one thing that’s NOT the same is the addition of Cannabis, in the industrial hemp form, receiving crop status in the bill.

According to agweb.com, Peterson, the ranking Democrat on the House Ag Committee, says he’s encouraged by the progress industrial hemp will gain by inclusion in the bill.

No date has been set for a farm bill vote.

**Farmers expected to have details about the second round of tariff aid payments last week, but negotiations extend delays.

According to ProFarmer analyst Jim Wiesemeyer, USDA is still negotiating with the Office of Management and Budget on the second round of farmer aid payments under the Market Facilitation Program.

Agweb.com reports, USDA had tentative plans to release the details Monday, but wanted to assess the potential impact of the U.S.-China truce first.

**Positive reactions following the trade truce reached between the U.S. and China at the G20 in Argentina.

As reported in agweb.com, the Chinese Commerce Ministry says, they are "confident in implementation" and the latest bilateral talks were "very successful."

Tweeting Wednesday, President Trump said, "Very strong signals being sent by China” and “I believe President Xi meant every word of what he said at our long and hopefully historic meeting.”
