From the Ag Information Network, I’m Bob Larson with your Agribusiness Update.

**In a continuing effort to help Americans make healthy food choices, and in honor of National Nutrition Month®, Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue announced a new campaign to help simplify the nutrition information that surrounds us each day.

The “Start Simple with MyPlate” campaign provides ideas and tips from the five MyPlate food groups that Americans can easily incorporate into their busy lives to help improve their health and well-being over time.

USDA says go to www.choosemyplate.gov/StartSimple to get started.

**China is buying more U.S. soybeans. USDA reports a sale of 926,000 metric tons for delivery this year or next.

This comes on the heels of last week’s buy of 664,000 metric tons, bringing the weeklong total to nearly 1.6 million metric tons.

Last week, industry insiders told us China may be buying somewhere between a half million and 2.5 million metric tons.

As for a possible trade deal, U.S. Ambassador to China Terry Branstad tells agweb.com, negotiators need to further narrow the gap in their positions including enforcement.

**The USDA reports licensed U.S. dairy farm numbers declined by 2,731, a drop of 6.8%.

According to milkbusiness.com, USDA says there are now just 37,468 licensed dairy farms in the country, down from 40,199 last year.

Wisconsin, having the most dairy farms in the nation, also had the most going out of business, with 590 farms closing their barn doors in 2018, a 6.5% decline.
