Irrigation Education

Irrigation Education. I'm Greg Martin with Washington Ag Today.

Choosing the right irrigation solution is essential to maximizing farm revenue, but it can be difficult to find reliable ag irrigation information. Now, growers can get on-demand irrigation information at the new irrigation.education website. Matt Ondrejko, VP Marketing, Valley Irrigation explains.

ONDREJKO: There's really no place that is kind of a neutral spot to go to. I either land on this manufacturers website or this manufactures website and I've got to piece things together and see how that story unfolds. So we approached several of our partners in the industry. Nelson, Senninger, Diversified. Some of us are on boards so like for instance I'm on the Groundwater Foundation board and we said what if we were able to come and bring a website, a training website to growers that are interested in irrigation to provide them unbiased information.

The Irrigation Education site is accessible 24/7 from a computer.

ONDREJKO: We had a lot of courses that were already established and we tweaked them and took some of the Valley slant of things where we clearly took it out trying to provide education the grower who's either new to irrigation or who is looking for a new solution.

He says there's already 19 courses online with plans to supplement that on a regular basis.

ONDREJKO: The URL that you would type in is irrigation.education. There's no www on the front and there's no dot-com. You sign up so we can track your learning and show you what you've already taken and there's no certification, there's no fee to join, it's all free.

And that's Washington Ag Today. I'm Greg Martin, thanks for listening on the Ag Information Network of the West.
