I'm Susan Allen, Kylie Grey is a young millennial mom who farms potatoes and other row crops under her Greygirl label says she couldn't do what she does without her FieldNET Mobile app from Lindsey irrigation, Iit works with smart phones and her tablet giving her the ability to access her farm and control irrigation in real time.

First can you tell our audience a little bit about your farming back ground?

GREY: I grew up on a 4th generation farm, my farm today is 5th generation but everything I farm is rented so I also call it a first generation farm.

So how are you "smartfarming" and why is it such a game changer for you?

We use the program FieldNET it's all through my cell phone. We are able to start and stop and monitor irrigation from an i-phone, it's life changing for us. I am a mom of three boys under 4 years old I always tell people you think I am kidding you but anything that saves me from having to load kids up in the car to check water it's worth the money for me. We are able to monitor just how much water we are putting down .and how often and if there is a break down we know right away. It saves on wear and tear on our vehicles, it saves on time. When you're a small business just getting started time is everything I can only be in so many places at once, it's just a lifesaver for us.

Okay kylie is there an ap for cows. Bundling two little grandsons up and hauling out to check cows in the winter was a challenge for me as well.
