Vive's Nanotechnology Pt 2

I'm Bob Larson. We introduced you yesterday to a new company that's bringing EPA-approved nanotechnology to agriculture and crop protection.

Vive Crop Protection Vice President of Sales and Marketing Tony Zatylny says we're leading edge right at the front end of this new technology platform ...

ZATYLNY ... "Our lead product that we've got on the market today is Azoxystrobin (AZteroid FC fungicide). So, something that would be in Quadris formulation from Syngenta. That is a great product, but it can not be mixed with fertilizer. It's not compatible. So, we've taken that very same Azoxystrobin molecule and put it inside a nanoparticle and it now becomes a fertilizer-compatible product."

Zatylny says it's about getting more out of less ...

ZATYLNY ... "So, now if you're looking at how can I gain efficiency on our farm so I've got my fertilizer that I'm applying to my potatoes or my corn or sugar beets and if I can combine the chemistry with my fertilizer I can save one operation, maybe reduce one pass over the field or instead of having more things, a water tank in addition to a fertilizer tank, I can start to create some efficiency on my farm."

In a recent survey, 90% of the Vive customers they talked with that used Azoxystrobin, known commercially as AZteroid FC, gave the mixing of the product with fertilizer either a 4 out of 5 or a 5 out of 5 rating.

Zatylny says he's worked with many products over the years and has never seen one with this level of satisfaction.
