01/02/06 Some deadlines to remember

Washington Ag January 2, 2006 To get your new year started off right here are some important deadlines to remember. Like when you have to sign up to get funding in 2006 for USDA's Environmental Quality Incentives Program or EQIP. Brown: "The deadline for signing up for our Environmental Quality Incentives Program is January the 13th of 2006." Dave Brown of the Washington state office of the Natural Resources Conservation Service who also says if you didn't get funded in the past reapply because local priorities can change. Dave Paul of USDA's USDA Risk Management Agency, says a crop insurance deadline comes up later this month. Paul: "The Adjusted Gross Revenue Pilot program which is available in three distinct areas of the northwest, including central Washington, has an upcoming sales closing date of January 31st for the 2006 insurance year. The Adjusted Gross Revenue Lite, which is available in every country in the northwest, the sales closing date was extended to March 15th for the 2006 crop year." On the calendar later this week, January 5th and 6th is the Direct Seed Conference at Three Rivers Convention Center in Kennewick. And next Monday January 9th the 2006 Legislative Session gets underway. I'm Bob Hoff.
