Farmers are getting first cutting down across most of the state. Higher elevations are still 2 to 4 weeks from cutting due to unseasonably cold, wet weather.

The U.S Drought Monitor's High Plains summary reports , some isolated shower activity (generally under an inch and a half accumulations) was observed this week in the eastern plains of Colorado, Montana, and Wyoming. Some areas of central Kansas and Nebraska saw accumulations ranging from 1 to 3 inches.

Meanwhile, Colorado Commissioner of Agriculture Kate Greenberg encourages state ag producers to check their eligibility for receiving FSA emergency loans after 28 Colorado counties were designated as primary natural disaster areas due to the two year drought.
