Washington Ag January 12, 2006 What's billed as the Pacific Northwest's largest farm equipment show and seminar series, Spokane Ag Expo and Pacific Northwest Farm Forum, comes up next week January 17th through the 19th. Dave Bauermeister, director of the Ag Bureau of the Spokane Area Chamber of Commerce says recently appointed administrator of the USDA's Farm Service Agency Teresa Lasseter will start the forum off Tuesday as moderator of a panel discussion on fertilizer, fuel and freight. Bauermeister: "And that panel will include Alex McGregor from the McGregor Company, Barbara Ivanov from the Washington Department of Transportation and Herb Hinman, Washington State University economist." Dr. Art Douglas, "The Weatherman" from Creighton University will once again appear at the opening session Tuesday. Congresswoman Cathy McMorris will speak Wednesday morning and Thursday there will be a Cattle Panel addressing the National Livestock Identification System at the Veteran's Memorial Arena. In addition to the numerous seminar sessions, new this year are workshops for Women , a Northern Quest Casino Night and early Thursday an Export Success Seminar which will instruct businesses on how to assess their export readiness, locate qualified foreign buyers and finance export sales. And the price for all of this; Bauermeister: "All of that for $10, free parking at the Arena and a free shuttle to downtown." I'm Bob Hoff.
