I'm Bob Larson. If you've been thinking about getting into agriculture, but are confused or intimidate by all the rules and regulations involved, there's a class coming up designed just for you.

Maria Giedra with the Center for Latino Farmers says they're hosting a FREE 4-day training session on USDA-programs and services ...

GIEDRA ... "What is it that they do? What is their programs and services provided for socially disadvantaged farmers and ranchers and farm workers in Washington state? So, they're coming out. We're talking about the directors from the state coming out and saying this is our services, this is our programs, this is the counties serve, so that farmers and ranchers and farm workers in transition to farm ownership can know what is out there to help them out."

And, Giedra says they'll cover a lot ...

GIEDRA ... "We will be talking about the five major agencies, which is Farm Service Agency, NRCA, which is Natural Resources Conservation Service. We will be talking about risk management awareness, National Agriculture Statistic Service and rule development."

But, Giedra says space is limited so be sure and register ...

GIEDRA ... "Exactly! Just register! Call and make sure we're going to have room for you."

The training runs evenings, Monday thru Thursday, September 16-19, at Columbia Basin College in Pasco. Call 509-453-3157 to register.

Listen tomorrow for more.
