04/14/06 Women in ag conf: CRP deadline change

Washington Ag April 14, 2006 The 2006 Women in Agriculture Conference is coming up April 22nd at Eastmont Junior High in East Wenatchee. One of the sponsors is Washington State University Extension and Margaret Viebrock with Douglas County Extension, says the conference was planned by and for ag women. Viebrock: "And the purpose of the conference is to help women supply them with the tools and information they need to help their farm family operation and agribusinesses succeed. And we are talking about women involved in agriculture anywhere from the owner, the operator, to the gopher, to the person who does the books, to the person who has the off-farm job to support the farm. We are addressing to topics of interest to women as they relate to their personal and family lives as well as farm business operations." For more information contact Viebrock at 509-745-8531 or Ann Diede at 509-667-6540. (For conference program and registration information, visit the web site at http://ffsn.wsu.edu/ and click on Women in Agriculture Conference) USDA has extended the sign up deadlines for both the Conservation Reserve Program and the special CRP re-enrollment and extension until April 28th.
