The White House Task Force on Agriculture and Rural Prosperity has released a report recommending ways to improve rural quality of life.

The report is a blueprint for boosting rural and farm community economies.

Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue spoke about the report at the recent Farm Bureau Federation Convention.

As Secretary of Agriculture, Sonny Perdue was selected to serve as the chairman of the Task Force, which includes 22 federal agencies as well as local leaders.

On its website the Task Force says it envisioned a rural America with world-class resources, tools, and support to build robust, sustainable communities for generations to come. Members and staff of the Task Force met in separate working groups to set priorities and a framework.

The Task Force also held several "listening sessions" across the country.
