The Colorado Department of Agriculture features a state grown or produced item each month. The Colorado Proud program highlights the work of local farmers and ranchers who bring the products to our shops and tables.

Wendy White with Colorado Ag says this month wheat is getting some love in a recipe for homemade pizza dough.

"Wheat is one of Colorado's top agricultural products. We actually rank 7th in the nation for wheat production. Colorado produces enough wheat to produce 7.4 Billion loaves of bread every year." And our recipe this month is scratch pizza dough."

You can find the recipe for pizza dough from Chef Jason Morse on the Colorado Proud website. Next month will feature an early spring vegetable that will go nicely roasted on that pizza.
