12/28//05 Woman of the Year, Kinsey

Welcome to the five thousand acre N Cattle Ranch in the south hills of Twin Falls County. Wilmoth Kinsey has some help from her son Dan and Mona, her wrangler but this 84 year old is still active in the day to day operations. KINSEY "Just strictly beef. Counting the calves and everything is probably around 500. I grew up right here. I grew up riding a horse. I think my first horseback ride I was about three years old. Once you learn how to ride you have to learn how to fall. That came later. KINSEY "There were two stupid steers that went down the fence so I headed out after them in full speed and my horse hit a bunch of honeycombed badger holes. The ground gave way and he fell on me. I had two broken arms, broken leg, broken ribs, it was a mess." Wilmoth Kinsey, honored by the Idaho Farm Bureau along with four other women for their contributions to agriculture and their community. Voice of Idaho Agriculture Bill Scott
