02/15/06 Young Farmer and Rancher, Whitmore

Paul and Erica Whitmore are the Farm Bureau District Five Young Farmer and Rancher chairmen. They married in 2003 and live on their small farm between Kendrick and Troy. PAUL "We have ten acres here, we have quarter horses. We raise horses and hogs. I work for the Idaho Transportation Department in Moscow and work on the road maintenance crew." ERICA "I'm a high school agriculture education teacher and FFA advisor so I'm teaching agriculture every day. I came from a farming background and enjoy my horses. Its nice to hear the ideas and get new things to use in my classroom and the kids like the variety that I've come back with." The Whitmores say that YFR gives them an opportunity to be with people in their age group that have the same passion for agriculture. ERICA "Share ideas and see what's new, what's not new." PAUL "I think that its very important for everybody to kind of stay up on current topics and issues and have an organization where they can get together to discuss issues like that are current." Paul and Erica Whitmore, Idaho Young Farmers and Ranchers. Voice of Idaho Agriculture Bill Scott
