Why is that when tragedy strikes it often comes in multiples? I’m Susan Allen when Open Range returns how one ranching family has suffered yet another devastating blow. Sadly it took the murder of a rancher to bring attention to the travesty of our southern borders. Remember it was just last March when Robert Krentz was out mending fencing and checking water lines on his families cattle ranch outside of Douglas Arizona, that he and his dog were brutally gunned down by an illegal drug runner. Well it is truly heartbreaking to report that while his wife wasn’t “gunned  down” she was “run down”  by Ramon Saucedo a drunk driver while Krentz was  helping an elderly friend cross the street after the service at her Catholic Church Saturday night in Douglas. Both women were hit by Saucedo’s vehicle. Krentz 56 suffers from a lacerated spleen, internal bleeding, broken ribs , broken leg, fractured pelvis ,head trauma and facial fractures. Father Robert Rodriquez was quoted in a local newspaper as saying “Sue Krentz is a very giving person and that’s what makes this very hard,” “Because she’s always given to others whether they’re immigrants or not and now this situation happened.”  Krentz was planning on being in Willcox  Arizona  Thursday night  when her husband was inducted posthumously at the Willcox Cowboy Hall of Fame. Please keep the Krentz family in your prayers especially her sons as they struggle to run the ranch in the wake of their fathers death. .
