I’m Susan Allen, I invite you to check out the latest Issue of Cowboys and Indians… you know, that glossy lifestyle publication  with Miranda Lambert on this month’s cover… the one that celebrates everything west, one of my  favorite ranching families just happens to be featured this month. So stay tuned on Open Range right after the break.  As I’ve said before one of my cherished escapes in the Northwest is the breathtaking Okanagan wilderness near the Canadian border the very region  that Robert Rebbholtz Sr. founder of Double R Beef  dreamed of creating a cattle empire that would hold it’s own against the Texas and mid-west cattle  dynasties. Rebbholtz felt strongly that Pacific Northwest was the perfect location to deliver the finest beef to the tables of America and beyond and his dream received national recognition in the April issue of Cowboys and Indian Magazine for Double R’s new retail line of steaks and roasts as well as lodge cookware and cooking videos. Robert Rebholtz Jr. says the goal of mail-order meats is to bring a part of his western heritage to their customers. I personally love the Concho Collection with cuts like, cape of rib eye and cowboy chop that are not only succulent, but also limited in supply making for an  extremely special and memorable meal. And  it’s nice to buy meat from folks committed to environmental stewardship, and the animals well being.  I just attended their bull sale and let me tell you their Angus are pretty darn handsome.    Kudos to Double R Ranch visit their web site at the doublerranch.com
