9-12 SS Banner Duck Season
A banner duck season coming up in the NW.
Bernard Brown is the Senior Regional Director in WA of Ducks Unlimited. In a recent conversation with him over the telephone, Mr. Brown said we have an unbelievable season to be looking forward to… thinking all the way back to 1955. Here is: “ It opens on the 15th of October , it closes on the 19th and reopens on the 22nd, so we have it two day gap but otherwise we will have the continuing 107 day season with a 7 bird bag limit and it is going to be pretty sweet in that respect. The beautiful news is that we are at a projected level of an 11% increase which is the largest over the previous year and this is the largest estimate since 1955 of total birds in the continent. Help me out with how that estimate is generated. At the end of waterfowl season, typically in January, and it is all weather dependent, each state is charged by the fish and wildlife service, to do an estimate of the birds in each state which is scientific and verifiable.”
